In Camera Sessions & Rems/Noms Committees
Dear colleagues
I have two matters I am seeking some sector benchmarking on:
1. Could you please indicate if your Council/Senate regularly holds in camera (closed sessions) without the Vice-Chancellor during a formal Council/Senate meeting?
2. Do you have a separate Remunerations and Nominations Committee or are they combined?
I appreciate your assistance with these queries.
Kind regards
Linda

At CQU, we have a closed session listed at the start of Council agendas, but only use it when there is an item that requires a closed session, or a Council member requests a closed session. The VC usually stays.
Our Chancellor's Committee serves as our Council membership committee and makes nomination recommendations to Council for Council and it's sub-committees. Remuneration of Council members is dealt with at Council. VC appointment and remuneration is handled at Chancellor's Committee (which also serves as an executive appointments and review committee) with recommendations made to Council.
