Antisemitism

Hi all, do any of your universities have a standalone policy on antisemitism (as opposed to antisemitism being included in other policies eg racism, discrimination, code of conduct)?

Thanks,

Julie

We don't (we are working on a comprehensive antiracism policy and statement, which will incorporate a definition of antisemitism as guidance material for decision-makers)

Disclosing senior executive remuneration outside of the annual report

Hi all, we are working through any improvement actions required to fully align with the new governance principles. I am keen to understand what other universities are already doing or considering introducing in response to Principle 8.2 Remuneration: annually disclose the remuneration of the Vice-Chancellor and senior managers, including a breakdown of their fixed remuneration, any variable remuneration and incentive payments, and other benefits, and

annually disclose whether the Vice-Chancellor or senior managers received material remuneration from a party other than the university. We currently publish executive remuneration in the broad bands in our Annual Report financial statements only. We are thinking about how we can publicly disclose senior executive remuneration in a clearer way, e.g. summarising total remuneration and how it compares to sector benchmarks or government guidelines, disclosing any paid external roles if applicable.

Observers at University Council meetings

Can anyone share any policies/processes that they have in place to allow staff, students, stakeholders to attend University Council/Senate meetings. Including whether this is available for all meetings or only certain meetings or even parts of meetings. Also, whether there are limited places available and if so, how this process works.

Thanks so much.
