Government Submissions and the role of the governing body

Dear AAUS colleagues,

An question has recently arisen at ACU concerning government submissions and the role of the governing body in this space.

We have always taken the view that submissions to government are matters for management and there is no need for the governing body to review or approve government submissions, as long as the submission is consistent with ACU’s broader strategy.

Do your respective institutions adopt a similar approach or are you regularly in the habit of distributing government submissions to members of your governing body for either information or approval?

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Regards

Diane

Hi Diane,

It's the same at JCU government submissions are a matter for management and Council doesn't review or approve them.

Ian
