Sitting fees/remuneration - Alternative Directors
Hi colleagues,
We have appointed alternative directors to the Board of one of our subsidiaries. The directors receive an annual remuneration but it is proposed to provide the alternative directors with a sitting fee if/when they are called upon. I'm seeking to benchmark appropriate sitting fees.
Does anyone offer their Members or Directors sitting fees that would be willing to share with me the amount? Or if not the amount, what % the sitting fee is compared to an annual remuneration amount?

Hi Anita Please see information for 2 of our controlled entities at UNSW. UNSW does not remunerate directors who are employees of the University. Independent Directors are remunerated in some cases.
CE 1
$6k p/a to a director
CE 2 (large entity)
$30k p/a to the Chair
$25k p/a to a director
$25k p/a to a committee Chair, although the Chair has elected to establish a scholarship in lieu of payment
$10k to a committee member
