By-Laws
Hi all, would appreciate some advice re. by-laws. CDU has 12 and they have not been updated for years. Key questions if I may: 1. Do you have by-laws (y or no). 2. How many and what do they cover? 3. Plans for the future (remove, rationalize, etc). 4. Pros and cons of keeping, removing - is there a sector position/standard? With thanks, Brendon

At Uni of Adelaide, our By-Laws regulate conduct on campus, ie parking, behaviour, liquor etc. Link to by-laws: THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE. I can't see that we would remove them, as they provide the power to authorised persons to enforce the by-laws and issue penalties/fines. (Section 23 of The University of Adelaide Act 1971 (SA) (the Act) provides the power to Council to make by-laws -see link: Bylaws - Authorisations)
