Hi all,

We're reviewing our Council Skills Matrix and I've been asked to see how we compare to other universities. Attached is our matrix, which lists skills, competencies and attributes Council has determined it needs. We recognise expertise and experience in the skills and competencies, and judge something as achieved if we have at least 1 expert or at least 6 members with experience. If we have more experts or experienced members, we judge that item as a strength.

We think we probably have too many items on our list, though we do like everything that's on there. We will probably remove the behavioural competencies from the matrix but keep them in our selection processes as we're finding most members have all the competencies, so that part of the list has become less helpful as a tool.

I would be very grateful to receive any matrices that can be shared, and happy for you to email direct to k.white@cqu.edu.au if that's easier or for confidentiality. I really just need the list of skills required :)
