Disability Governance Committee as a Sub-Committee of the Governing Body
Hi, I have 2 questions:
1) I was wondering if anyone else is grappling with the amendments to the Higher Education Support (Other Grants) Amendment (Disability Support Fund) Guidelines 2026, namely the requirement (s37A) of a Disability Governance Committee to be "established as a subcommittee under the principal governing body of the provider". I would be keen to know if others are progressing with constituting this Committee.
2) Looking at what Professional Development opportunities are offered for Council members, I am keen to know if anyone includes University study at the institution?

Hi Sophie,
Ours will be a Committee of Council. We we're looking at making it a sub-committee of Academic Board but as Tony says below it's got to report direct to Council.
We don't offer uni study to our Council members just AICD/UCC Foundations of University Governance.
