Staff

  • 5 Universities do not pay their staff members. Of these, 4 Universities “reimburse” the staff’s cost centre or department budget an amount equal to the rate paid to external Council members or recognise their time as part of the workload model or are given access to additional research or professional development funds;

Further, all members have the same governance responsibilities, liabilities and obligations, whether official, appointed, or elected

Students

  • 4 Universities paid the same rate as their external Council members;

  • the other 2 Universities paid at a lower rate, around 1/3rd of the external Council member rate (eg $5,000 / $15,000). The rationale for the lower fee was around the skills and experience that students bring
