Distinguished Service Awards

Could anyone provide advice as to whether there is an award for the distinguished service of staff members offered at their university ? If so, would you able to provide a brief overview of the eligibility criteria of this award?

Hello Alyssa, at Newcastle we replaced 'Distinguished Service Medal' some years ago (it had fallen into disuse) by extending the scope of an Honorary University Fellowship (policy provisions here). The criteria for the award is "exceptional and longstanding service".
Not many nominations have been made/considered yet and exactly how it will fit together with honorary degrees, awards of the title professor emeritus, and our alumni awards is perhaps yet to be seen in practice.
