Student Consultation policies/procedures
Hi all,
We’re looking at documenting the process by which our students are consulted (after noting this is a new requirement per Part 3; section 12 of the Higher Education Support (Student Services, Amenities, Representation and Advocacy) Guidelines 2022.
Could you tell me whether you already have – or planning to develop – a student consultation policy or procedures/guidelines?

Hi Anita, Deakin has a miscelleny of arrangements - Student Comms policy and protocols, Students as Partners, Student Representative positions and support, Report (to Council) on 'Process by which students are consulted on matters relating to the interests of students and specifically in regard to the use of proceeds derived from the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)' and annual Council forum with students. We have not consolidated these into a single framework becuase it tends to be outdated almost immediately. We gather information retrospectively as required.
