AAUS October 2023 meeting
Dear AAUS Members,
Just sending around a quick note to provide a rough overview of plans for the October meeting, so those attending in person can start making their travel arrangements. I feel like I blink and another month has disappeared.
Session 1 - Monday 30 October - starting at 1.00pm
This session will include a couple of guest speakers to talk to us about data security/privacy and also the interim findings from the Universities Accord.
Informal dinner Monday night for those attending in person
Session 2 - Tuesday 31 October - starting at 10am (Halloween costumes are encouraged)
This session will include our annual business, Hot Topics and we are also (fingers crossed) hoping to have a Chancellor able to speak to us.
We will aim to wrap up by 12.30pm
There are two hotels in Coogee (5-minute bus ride to UNSW)
There is also a light rail stop at UNSW - so it is a 25-30minute tram ride to the centre of Sydney if people would prefer to stay in town.

AAUS Elections - Elections for the AAUS Executive are held at the annual meeting, and we are encouraging any interested AAUS members to nominate for any of the Executive positions:
President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer
These roles are currently filled by Alyssa White (President), Vacant (Vice-President), James Fitzgibbon (Treasurer) and Nicole Knight (Secretary). If you would like to nominate for any position, please let me know prior to the meeting. Please also feel free to contact one of the Executive if you have any questions or would like to discuss further.
